Water Sampling
Pesticide Screening Program
* Pesticide Immunoassay Screening*
Samples will be analyzed for triazines (of which atrazine is a common form).
This is a common herbicides used in the control of grasses and broadleaf weeds
in crops. The presence of this contaminant in a water supply could be due to
leaching, accidental spill, or improper storage. COST: $12.00
* Bacteriological/Nitrate Test*
Samples will be analyzed for pollutional bacteria called "coliforms", which are
normally present in the intestinal tract of humans, birds, and animals, and are
always found in sewage. Coliforms in a water sample usually indicate that
pollution is entering the water supply. Samples will also be analyzed for
nitrate, which is another good indicator of general contamination.
COST: Free with purchase of pesticide screening
